But, I was of course wrong anyway: almost all adjectives can be used as adverbs and they don't get a silly little -ly appendix, but there are a lot of adverbs that's can't be used as an adjective. I think.

Learn German! We don't have any adverbs. (We do, but they look exactly like adjectives, psst.)

Compared to other languages, German has quite a few adverbs and no, they are not adjectives.
